This week…
I wrote about the history behind legendary explorer Jacques Cousteau’s red watch cap, and some brands that make watch caps I like. Give it a read here!
STUFF I’D WEAR
Drôle de Monsieur’s new women’s collection, La Femme Drôle.
The Drake’s caramel suede bomber jacket. So smooth it’s not fair.
The raglan raincoat from Berg & Berg (think they only have Navy in stock rn).
These FRESH neckties from Junior’s in Philadelphia!
What I call: the stick of butter uniform from Harvest & Mill (unisex and made in USA!)
A happy belated birthday to David Letterman…
And some photos of him in these fire-looking rugby shirts on-set. Couldn’t find the exact styles, but obviously, Rowing Blazers has plenty of solid options. Another new brand I’ve seen pop up called Withernot has some lower-priced shirts too. Here’s a look at what they’ve got.
Puma digs into the archives
A few weeks ago, Puma revived the famous low-top sneakers from their brand endorsement with Ralph Sampson (a retired NBA player). These are an iteration of Ralph’s high tops he wore during his days with the Houston Rockets. Puma made some tweaks, and honestly, they look fly!
I dig these ones more than the original RS Lows, especially with the thick, creme sole. I may be grabbing a pair for summer!
The Bode shorts
A homie of mine recently snapped a photo of his Bode shorts and I’m freaking out I love them so much. Sadly Bode doesn’t seem to carry them right now.
We’ll just admire from afar…
STUFF TO READ
The story behind Carroll Shelby’s prized 1959 Patek Philippe timepiece he won as a trophy (HODINKEE).
Paying homage to Nat King Cole and his enduring style (The Rake).
A PHENOMENAL, and longer, read on Puma’s history with sneakers in the NBA (The Undefeated).
Those Chelsea boots…
De Fursac is one of my favorite Parisian brands. I keep up with their Creative Director, Gauthier Borsarello, a lot and just love the energy they bring to menswear. Borsarello recently posted (bottom right) about their signature black Chelsea boots he’s been rocking at the office, and boy are they phenomenal!
