Brand feature: exploring Libero’s Autumn collection
I love introducing independent brands to y’all. One of my favorite brands out there right now is Libero, a brand based in Canada, run by Adam Appugliesi.
One of the things I love about Adam is his intentionality with every drop and collection. He doesn’t just slap shit on a shirt and sell it, he’s thoughtful about the stories he tells.
I want to give you closer look into the Libero brand, and how he’s building it, so I asked Adam a few questions…
Tell us about Libero.
Libero is a storytelling vehicle. The brand was started by two friends, me and my best friend. He passed during the beginning years of Libero, so it’s important for me to carry the legacy and continue telling stories that are true and authentic. There are so many brands out there, so I don't want to reinvent the wheel; I want to change the way people induldge in clothing.
Libero is also about my family, my upbringing. I’m very Italian, and I use my father as the model when I drop new collections. You can't write words that my father’s face tells visually. That’s what Libero is about. It's about letting people into my life and letting them understand clothing through my perspective.
How'd this collection come about?
This collection is about the clothes I’ve seen my dad wear for the past 20 years.
Every morning he’d wake up before the sun, put on a pair of dark wash denim, and throw on the same steel-toe boots. He never wanted to look good. It was about getting the job done and providing for his family. Keeping him warm in the cold winter months. Coats that took a beating but looked better the more he wore them, denim that softened with wear, sweaters that stretched a bit at the elbows.

Good style never dies — Harrison Ford wearing blazers
Yung Harrison honestly had the sauce, no doubt. The way he dressed is so simple, but it works effortlessly. And maybe that's why we're all nostalgic for it. There's no drama or forcing it.
As weird as it feels to wear a blazer in society sometimes (btw there’s nothing wrong with wearing blazers; I just haven’t found a need to rock one lately), brands like Drake’s give me hope for tips on integrating tailored pieces into different contexts seamlessly without looking like a dandy.
You know what, this is inspiring me to go and find a good soft-shouldered blazer I can restock I can wear out to dinner now. Standby.

4 products I’m digging
These shirt jackets from Tony Shirtmakers—I found this dude Tony on IG recently, and he only does custom-commissioned pieces. He made these casetino wool shirt jackets for a customer, and they are fucking crazy good. An homage to the classic LL Bean overshirt.
These Polo knits from Corridor also go crazy. I have one in navy, and it’s a slouchy, fun piece to layer with. You throw it under a jacket, over a t-shirt, or wear it by itself. Either way, it drapes nicely.
These shoes that Knickerbocker made with Fracap. Especially loved the low-tops they designed, They’re understated pieces, and that’s how it should be. You want the boot to do its job: be sturdy, keep you warm, and quietly complement the rest of your fit.
These bucket hats from Glor are unreal. I continue to be impressed with everything he does. Looks like they only did an initial run of buckets and are looking to make some more by Christmas time, but follow their account if you haven’t already. Plenty of fire. Plus, they might release more soon.
