Sprezza is a new kind of newsletter exploring men’s style.
We talk about independent menswear, WTF style means, cover drops, review products, and the business of retail.
Today I drop my first-ever product, in collaboration with Kamakura.
Kamakura is a LEGENDARY Japanese shirtmaker and every year they release a line of shirts called the Vintage Ivy collection. These pieces are designed by the incredible Graham Marsh, designer and co-author of Black Ivy.
Grateful to the team over in Tokyo for letting me curate a few colors for their summer collection.
Behind the oxford
I’ve been wearing oxford shirts since before I can remember. My dad was a Baptist preacher, so dressing up was required. My mom would fit me and my brothers every Sunday. Oxfords, navy blazer, tie.
Church was the first place that taught me to care about clothing.
This is an homage to a timeless piece.
Options
Here are the three, light-weight summer oxfords I curated for Kamakura’s Graham Marsh collection:
Red
Yellow
Purple
Wear the sh*t out of it
Wear it in The Hamptons.
Wear it to a wine bar.
Wear it to church.
Wear it on an airplane.
Wear it to a wedding.
Wear it to a birthday party.
Wear it to your mom’s house.
Just wear it.
A note on sizing
Japanese pieces sometimes run smaller, so I would recommend going a size up from your normal size if you want the fit to drape a bit. Their sizing guide for men and women will help you if need some support.
