Where to buy the best totes and messenger bags right now

Back-to-school season is underway, and if you’ve got kids, you’ve probably already shelled out more than enough money on school supplies, new sneakers, and backpacks.

But I think it’s time to treat yourself to a new bag, too. Hell, it might even make heading to the office, running errands, or getting to the studio feel a wee bit more exciting.

Whether you’re looking for a messenger bag that feels like a tenured professor on Rooster, need to retire that threadbare tote you’ve been using to haul your daily shit around, or want a backpack for bobbing and weaving through traffic on a Citi Bike, we’ve got something for you.

Whatever your commute, or lack thereof, these are bags built to stay on your person and carry the load.

If you’ve been following along, we’ve already put together guides on:

  • T-shirts

  • Linen and Seersucker

  • Hats

  • Shorts and Swim Trunks

  • Flip-Flops and Sandals

If you’re new to the guides, we drop one a week and the categories are always different. If you want access to these shopping guides for yourself or a loved one, you can subscribe here.

A few notes about these guides ❤️

  1. As always, if you’re looking for trendy shit on the cheap, this isn’t the best place to look. You need the right stuff, not more stuff.

  2. A lot of these recommendations tend to be medium to higher price point (though not always). If you’re looking for quality, affordable options, I always recommend thrifting what you can (like eBay, vinted, etc), or looking at options like Uniqlo.

    1. If you like these guides, share them with a homie, partner, family member, lover, or anyone who would appreciate it!
