Now that our bodies are getting reacquainted with outerwear again, let's break down the difference between a jacket and a coat.
A jacket is a lighter layer for not-so-harsh temperatures, while a coat (aka Chief Of Ass Temperatures) is a longer, heavier garment meant for bone-chilling, sub-zero weather.
Not to get too in the weeds, but while they may technically be different, they share the same intent: keeping your ass from freezing off.
We have a mix of puffer jackets from an Icelandic brand, military-inspired liners that hold their own without a second layer, and waxed trench coats in case you don't want to look like a Wall Street shark. Here are over a dozen of the best right now.

A few notes about these guides ❤️
As always, if you’re looking for trendy shit on the cheap, this isn’t the best place to look. You need the right stuff, not more stuff.
A lot of these recommendations tend to be medium to higher price point (though not always). If you’re looking for quality, affordable options, I always recommend thrifting what you can (like eBay, vinted, etc), or looking at options like Uniqlo.
